Chelsea are close in signing Barcelona midfielder and former Arsenal player Cesc Fabregas with the deal to be announced later this week.

The 27-year old Spain international attracted interest from Chelsea and Manchester United after Barcelona’s new manager Luis Enrique decided to put the midfielder on the transfer list for £30 million.Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is keen to replace legend Frank Lampard, who will leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the month when his contract expires, with Fabregas.

 

Kick Socca sources in Spain understand that Chelsea held talks with Fabregas and his agent Darren Dein last week and the player agreed on personal terms after undergoing successful medical tests.
