Manchester City lost more ground in the title race as they stumbled to a 0-0 draw with bottom club QPR at Loftus Road on Tuesday.
Roberto Mancini's side lacked firepower, on a day when they sold Mario Balotelli to AC Milan, and the Italian boss made a bizarre decision to take Carlos Tevez off for Jack Rodwell in the second half.
Pablo Zabaleta hit the bar with a header from David Silva’s cross in the 20th minute but the home side had a loud penalty appeal turned down in the second half when Loic Remy was brought down.
Julio Cesar denied Silva late on and, in the end, City had to settle for a point and they now trail Manchester United, who have a game in hand against Southampton on Wednesday, by four points.
