If you are a DStv subscriber, then you will definitely be excited to hear that from August, SuperSport’s football offering just got a whole lot better!
In the new season, SuperSport will unpack the drama and intrigue that will surely surround English football now that the game’s number one antagonist, Jose Mourinho, has returned to the Premier League.
The Bundesliga, exclusively available on SuperSport across all of Sub-Saharan Africa, is another league that is set to thrill in the new season.
It currently ranks as the best in Europe following Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund’s successes in last season’s UEFA Champions League, and it now also boasts having the most successful manager of the last five years, Pep Guardiola, who recently returned after a year’s sabbatical.
Guardiola’s return will rekindle the soap opera-like rivalry he had with Mourinho during their time as Barcelona and Real Madrid managers which had football fans gripped. The pair will cross paths early in the new season, in the UEFA Super Cup where the Spaniard’s Champions League-winning Bayern face his arch-nemesis’ Europa League-conquering Chelsea.
The Super Cup, to be played at the end of August, will be SuperSport’s first broadcast of the new European inter-club season. The Champions and Europa Leagues follow in mid-September with the group stages.
Don’t count out another Mourinho-Guardiola clash in the latter stages of the Champions League. In the new season SuperSport will still be the destination for all the FA Cup and the nPower Championship action.
SuperSport is the only place to see this vast selection of premier football. These include English Premier League (EPL), Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, South African Premier Soccer League (PSL), Kenya Premier League (KPL), Uganda Super League (USL), Nigerian Premier League (NPL), Angolan Girabola, Ghana Premier League, Zambia Premier League and the CAF Champions League.
